Background
Sage Technology & Development LLC is an independent business owned and operated by Dr. Barry H. Rabin. Dr. Rabin received his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1986. He began his professional career by spending 10 years as a Principal Investigator at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory (INL), becoming an internationally recognized researcher in the field of materials science and engineering. In 1995, Dr. Rabin completed a Business Creation from Technology course offered by the INL, and in 1996 he graduated from an Entrepreneurial Development Program sponsored by Harvard Business School and Thermo Electron Corporation.
In 1997, Dr. Rabin left the INL to co-found a company in advanced magnetic materials, which sold successfully in 2002. From 2003 through 2004, Dr. Rabin served as COO of California-based technology startup Vapore, Inc., that was commercializing a new vaporization technology. In late 2004 he left Vapore to start his own consulting practice, and among other clients, he continued to consult for Vapore to ensure the successful launch of the company’s first product, a medical humidification device.
In late 2005 Dr. Rabin founded Sage Technology & Development LLC to focus on pursuing his own inventions in the medical device field. Dr. Rabin maintains an extensive network of colleagues throughout the scientific, academic and business communities, including confidential relationships with a variety of vendors and service providers, that allow Sage to effectively leverage its resources during project execution. Dr. Rabin has authored more than 80 technical publications, has co-authored one book, and has 5 issued patents and numerous pending patent applications to his credit.
